in Hamburg, Germany in 1936, the German training vessel Horst Wessel
was claimed as a war reparation by the U. S. Coast Guard in 1946
and renamed Eagle. Today, she proudly serves as the training vessel
for the Coast Guard academy at New London, Connecticut.
