in for it

In for winter lay up this schooner has just paid off its crew. Now, with a pocket full of money one of the sailors happens upon a Salvation Army kettle. He was about to turn a deaf ear to the tinkling bell's plea, however, upon remembering the goodness of the Salvation Army, he pauses and drops a donation in the kettle. Some years ago this work was used for a Salvation Army Christmas Fund Benefit print. The work evoked the sentiment that if you give from your heart, "Your Ship Will Come In."
